Dr. Muhannad Al Okla

Dr. Muhannad Al Okla is a German Board and European Board certified gastroenterologist and hepatologist with over 16 years of experience in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology. He completed his medical degree at Damascus University, Syria, and undertook specialist training at Helios Hospital in Schwelm, Germany, where he also worked as a consultant. He has been practising in the UAE for more than 3 years and is currently based at American Hospital Dubai.

Dr. Al Okla performs a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. These include ERCP (a keyhole technique for removing bile duct stones and treating pancreas duct problems), endoscopic ultrasound with tissue sampling, gastroscopy (camera examination of the stomach), and colonoscopy. He manages gastrointestinal bleeding, varices (enlarged veins in the oesophagus and stomach), and bleeding ulcers. He also performs polyp removal, endoscopic feeding tube placement, stricture widening, and stent placement in the oesophagus, duodenum, and colon. He diagnoses and manages liver diseases such as fatty liver and viral hepatitis, and inflammatory bowel conditions including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

Dr. Al Okla is well suited for patients needing complex endoscopic procedures, liver disease management, or inflammatory bowel disease care. He holds memberships in the German Society of Gastroenterology and the World Endoscopy Organization.
