Dr. Florian Roser

Dr. Florian Roser is Chief Medical Officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where he has worked since 2014 and has led the Neurological Institute as Chair since 2019. He is a board-certified neurosurgeon qualified in Germany, the UK, and the UAE, with 27 years of experience. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he was Vice-Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Tübingen in Germany, where he also headed the Skull Base Center and the Spine and Spinal Cord Center.

Dr. Roser specializes in skull base surgery, spine surgery, and neuro-oncology (brain and spinal cord tumours). His clinical work spans epilepsy surgery, treatment of brain tumours including glioblastomas and pituitary tumours, and conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, and syringomyelia. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Hannover and has undertaken advanced fellowships in skull base surgery and spine surgery.

He holds a Full Professor position at Eberhard-Karl's University of Tübingen and serves as Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. He is also Adjunct Professor at the Biomedical Engineering Faculty at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi. Dr. Roser is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery published by Elsevier.
