Dr. Khalil Zahra

Dr. Khalil Zahra is a Staff Physician in the Interventional Radiology & Imaging Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Diagnostics Institute. He brings 32 years of clinical experience, including specialized training in neuro-interventional surgery at Stanford University Medical Center and fellowship in neuroradiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he served as a Neuro-Interventional Surgery Consultant in New Jersey and as an Assistant Professor of Radiology, Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. Zahra is recognized for his expertise in treating complex brain and spine conditions through minimally invasive catheter-based techniques. He has completed over 3,000 cerebral angiograms (imaging studies of blood vessels in the brain) and more than 250 aneurysm embolizations—a procedure that seals weak blood vessels to prevent rupture. He was the first physician in Maryland to complete certification for using cerebral flow diversion devices, an advanced technique for treating difficult aneurysms that he has performed over 50 times.
