Dr. Imran Zahid

Dr. Imran Zahid is a Consultant Nephrologist and Chair of the Nephrology Division at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. With over 30 years of clinical practice, he is board-certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine and holds licenses from the UAE Department of Health, the State Medical Board of Ohio, and the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. He trained at leading North American institutions, including a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina and fellowships in Nephrology at Albert Einstein Medical Center and Rheumatology at Temple University.

Dr. Zahid's clinical expertise spans chronic kidney disease management, dialysis and haemodialysis, kidney transplantation, autoimmune kidney disorders, and complex high blood pressure. He has held senior leadership roles as Chief of Nephrology at hospitals across the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing kidney care internationally.

He is fluent in English and Urdu, which enables him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population. In 2022, he received the SSMC Distinguished Clinician Award in recognition of his exceptional commitment to patient care. Dr. Zahid is dedicated to creating personalised treatment plans that improve quality of life for his patients.
