Dr. Ammar Kheir

Dr. Ammar Kheir is a Staff Physician in the Gastroenterology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Digestive Disease Institute. He brings 17 years of clinical experience and advanced training across the UK, Australia, and Japan. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he was a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital in Brisbane and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland's Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Kheir specializes in advanced endoscopic procedures including image-enhanced endoscopy, therapeutic colonoscopy, and endoscopic resection of gastrointestinal lesions. He has performed thousands of screening and diagnostic procedures, and hundreds of complex curative endoscopic resections for early cancers. His clinical focus areas include bowel cancer screening, Barrett's esophagus, inflammatory bowel disease, colonic polyposis, and early gastric cancer detection. He has contributed to four endoscopy textbooks and presented research at international gastroenterology conferences.
