Dr. Hameed Raina

Dr. Hameed Raina is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist with over 14 years of experience managing complex gastrointestinal, pancreatic, and liver diseases. He is head of endoscopy at Medcare Hospital Sharjah and holds qualifications from leading Indian institutions: an MBBS from Government Medical College Srinagar, an MD in Internal Medicine from SKIMS, and a DM in Gastroenterology & Hepatology from the Homi Bhabha National Institute and Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. He is also MRCP-UK certified and holds advanced fellowships in motility disorders, endoscopic ultrasound, therapeutic endoscopy, and third-space endoscopy.

Dr. Raina has performed over 20,000 endoscopic procedures and is recognized as one of the UAE's leading experts in therapeutic endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), enteroscopy, and reflux management. He has introduced several advanced minimally invasive techniques to the private sector in the region—including peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), and anti-reflux endoscopic procedures—helping patients avoid surgery while preserving organs and achieving faster recovery.
