Dr. Qasim Khalil

Dr. Qasim Khalil is a Staff Physician in the Hospital Medicine Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Integrated Hospital Care Institute. He brings 22 years of clinical experience, including extensive work in both private practice and academic medical centres across the United States before relocating to Abu Dhabi. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Khalil trained at Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies (2000–2004) and completed his Internal Medicine residency at The Jewish Hospital, University of Cincinnati (2004–2007). He has worked as a hospitalist in Ohio and Texas, combining direct patient care with training and mentoring of medical residents and students. His academic roles included Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wright State University (2008–2013) and Baylor College of Medicine (2013–2016), where he developed bedside ultrasound curricula and co-directed simulation-based training programmes.

Dr. Khalil is well suited for patients admitted to hospital with acute medical conditions such as pneumonia, asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, urinary tract infections, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. His background in academic medicine means he stays current with evidence-based approaches to inpatient care and is comfortable managing complex or multi-system illnesses.
