Dr. Mazn Karmo

Dr. Mazn Karmo is a UK-certified Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with over 20 years of experience treating adult digestive and liver diseases. He holds a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) from the UK (2008) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. His career spans diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy, complex liver management, and bowel cancer screening.

During his time in the UK (2009–2018), Dr. Karmo served as head of Gastroenterology at Countess of Chester Hospital, where he established and developed the liver service from the ground up. His clinical interests centre on liver disease assessment and management—including fatty liver, autoimmune liver conditions, and care before and after liver transplant—as well as common GI complaints such as abdominal pain, food intolerance, and inflammatory bowel disease. He performs advanced endoscopy procedures including ERCP (clearing bile ducts), upper and lower GI stenting, and dilation.

Dr. Karmo relocated to the UAE in 2019, initially working at Mediclinic and Yas Clinic in Abu Dhabi before joining Burjeel Day Surgery Center on Al Reem Island. He is fluent in Arabic and English and brings both technical expertise and a commitment to personalized patient care.
