Dr. Rajaie A. Namas

Dr. Rajaie Namas is Section Head of the Rheumatology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He completed his medical degree at the University of Tripoli, Libya, and trained in internal medicine at Hurley Medical Center/Michigan State University in Flint, Michigan. He went on to complete a clinical and research fellowship in rheumatology at Wayne State University and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he developed specialized expertise in complex autoimmune conditions.

Dr. Namas spent six years at the University of Michigan as a Clinical Lecturer and then Clinical Assistant Professor, where he was supported by the National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. He treats a broad range of rheumatologic conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, gout, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and Sjögren's syndrome. His research focuses on new treatment strategies, outcome measurement and laboratory markers that help predict disease activity and response to therapy.

Dr. Namas is board certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology. He is an active reviewer for peer-reviewed medical journals and remains engaged in translational research and international clinical trials developing novel therapies, particularly for scleroderma-related lung disease. He is a member and fellow of both the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians.
