Dr. Sahrkaw Azat Muhyaldeen

Dr. Sahrkaw Azat Muhyaldeen is a Consultant Cardiologist with more than 17 years of consultant-level experience, focusing on cardiac electrophysiology and device therapy. He completed his medical degree at Mosul Medical School in 1988 and went on to gain a Diploma in Internal Medicine with distinction from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (UK).

He specialises in managing complex heart rhythm disorders and advanced cardiac device implantation. His training included specialist cardiology at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, and dedicated research on cardiac resynchronization therapy (heart failure treatment using pacemakers) at Good Hope Hospital, Birmingham. He completed advanced subspecialty training in electrophysiology and device therapy at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. He spent over 18 years at Manchester Royal Infirmary, where he served as Electrophysiology Lead for Manchester Foundation Trust, and recently relocated to the UAE to join Al Zahra Hospital.

Dr. Sahrkaw treats a wide range of heart rhythm problems including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, and ventricular tachycardia. He implants and manages pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac resynchronization therapy devices, and performs electrophysiology studies and ablation procedures.
