Dr. Paul Sayad

Dr. Paul Sayad is a Consultant General Surgeon with over two decades of international surgical experience. He completed his medical degree at St. Joseph University in Beirut, followed by a general surgery residency at Staten Island University Hospital in New York (1994–1999). He pursued advanced fellowship training in laparoscopic surgery at the same institution under Dr. George Ferzli, a recognised pioneer in the field. Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery (2000, recertified 2010) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Sayad has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and been invited to speak at international surgical conferences.

Dr. Sayad has extensive experience in keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery for hernias, gallbladder disease, reflux problems, and weight-loss procedures. He treats a broad range of general surgical conditions including breast lumps and cancer, colorectal diseases (such as hemorrhoids, fissures, and fistulas), thyroid and adrenal gland disorders, and skin cancers including melanoma. He uses sentinel lymph node biopsy techniques to assess lymph node involvement in breast and skin cancers.

Having relocated to the UAE in 2006, Dr. Sayad spent eight years as a Consultant at the American Hospital before joining Al Zahra Hospital. He is committed to evidence-based, patient-centred care delivered through the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques.
