Dr. Mahesh Dhanjee

Dr Mahesh Dhanjee is a consultant urologist with over 30 years of clinical experience. He qualified as a medical doctor in 1992 from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and subsequently specialised in urology, graduating with distinction (cum laude) and receiving the prestigious Lionel B. Goldschmidt Award. He completed advanced laparoscopic training at the European Institute of Telesurgery in association with Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France. Before moving to Dubai, he successfully managed a busy private practice for more than 23 years in South Africa and served as Director and Chairman of the Board at Mediclinic Newcastle.

Dr Dhanjee has extensive experience across the full range of urological conditions and treatments. He has performed more than 400 prostate brachytherapy procedures for early prostate cancer and has treated over 2,000 patients with kidney stone disease. He is an accredited Da Vinci robotic surgeon with more than 10 years of successful robotic-assisted prostate removal surgery. He was among the first urologists in South Africa to implement MRI-ultrasound fusion technology for early detection of prostate cancer, a technique that improves the accuracy of cancer diagnosis. He now practises across several Mediclinic locations in Dubai.
