Dr. Osama Saeed Abuzaid

Dr. Osama Saeed Abuzaid is a Consultant in General Surgery at Medcare Sharjah with two decades of clinical experience across Jordan, the UK, and the UAE. He completed his MBBS from Jordan University of Science and Technology and pursued advanced training in general surgery, including specialist registrar posts at leading NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK (Rotherham General Hospital, Doncaster Royal Infirmary, and Chesterfield Royal Hospital). He holds membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (UK) and has formal fellowship training in laparoscopic and colorectal surgery.

Dr. Abuzaid performs a broad range of general surgical procedures, with particular expertise in minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques. He has extensive experience in laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal), anti-reflux surgery for heartburn, appendix removal, hernia repair, and colorectal surgery. He also treats colon and rectal cancers, rectal prolapse, breast lumps and cancer, haemorrhoids, anal fistula and fissures, pilonidal cysts, and soft tissue tumours. He is an expert in stapled haemorrhoidopexy (a modern technique for haemorrhoids) and thyroid surgery.

Dr. Abuzaid has demonstrated commitment to medical education, serving as Programme Director and Board Examiner for general surgery training in Jordan, and as a clinical tutor and adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Sharjah. He prioritises informed patient decision-making and takes time to explain conditions and treatment options clearly.
