Dr. Samer Makhoul

Dr. Samer Makhoul is a Consultant Psychiatrist at Reem Hospital in Abu Dhabi with 21 years of clinical experience. He trained at Damascus University in Syria and holds membership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Throughout his career, he has worked across well-established healthcare facilities in the UAE and UK, building broad expertise in adult mental health.

Dr. Makhoul diagnoses and treats depression, mood disorders, anxiety, panic attacks, psychosis, adult autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and eating disorders. He has completed specialist training in psychopharmacology (medication management for psychiatric conditions) through the British Association of Psychopharmacology and holds a postgraduate qualification in autism from Sheffield Hallam University. Beyond hospital psychiatry, he holds the formal title of Specialist Aeromedical Examiner with the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority, assessing mental fitness for aviation personnel.

Dr. Makhoul has held senior leadership roles including Head of the Psychiatry Department and Deputy Chief Medical Officer.
