Dr. Shabeeha K Rana

Dr Shabeeha K Rana is a consultant haematologist with over 20 years of clinical experience across leading UK institutions including Royal Marsden Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham, University Hospital Nottingham, and King's College Hospital London. She moved to Dubai in 2018 and currently practices at King's College Hospital London (Dubai). She is a pioneer of the first haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (bone marrow transplant) programme in Dubai, where she previously led the Clinical Haematology, HSCT, and Cellular Therapy department at American Hospital Dubai.

Dr Rana specialises in blood cancers and related blood disorders. Her main areas of focus include acute and chronic leukaemias (including AML, ALL, CML, and CLL), Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas, multiple myeloma, and amyloidosis. She also treats anaemia, thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), polycythemia, autoimmune blood disorders, blood clots, and offers bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapy. Her expertise spans both the diagnosis and treatment of blood cancers, laboratory haematology, and the medical management of complex blood-related conditions.

Dr Rana is passionate about teaching, clinical research, and patient education around blood cancers. She is a well-known speaker at national and international conferences on blood cancers, with particular interest in lymphomas, myelomas, and leukaemias. She holds membership in major professional societies including the American Society of Hematology, British Society of Haematology, European Society of Hematology, and Emirates Society of Haematology, among others. In 2023, she was recognised as the first representative from the Gulf region selected for the European Hematology Association annual meeting within the 'Women in Lymphoma' group.
