About Dr. Alaa El-Ghobashy
Dr. Alaa El-Ghobashy is a consultant subspecialist in gynecological oncology with over 14 years of experience in the UK National Health Service. He completed his specialist training in gynecological oncology in Leeds and holds an MD in gynecological oncology from the University of Liverpool (2005). He is an expert in robotic surgery, having pioneered its use in the UK for both benign and cancer cases over more than a decade.
He treats a wide range of gynecological cancers including ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vulval cancers, offering screening, diagnosis, and surgical care. He also manages benign conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, and pelvic prolapse. His minimally invasive approach includes robotic-assisted procedures, laparoscopy (keyhole surgery), and hysteroscopy (camera inside the uterus).
