Dr. Siddiq Anwar

Dr Siddiq Anwar is a British and US-trained Consultant Nephrologist at King's College Hospital London – Dubai with over 22 years of experience in nephrology. He completed specialist renal training through the South Thames Renal Rotation in the UK, including transplant training at St George's Hospital and Guy's Hospital in London, followed by advanced fellowships in nephrology and renal transplantation at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis.

Dr Anwar manages the full spectrum of kidney conditions, from kidney transplantation and chronic kidney disease to acute kidney injury and dialysis services. He has played a key role in developing nephrology and transplant services across the region, including helping establish the UAE's Paired Kidney Donation Program. His work spans clinical nephrology, kidney ultrasound, continuous renal replacement therapy (used for very sick kidney patients), and conditions affecting the kidneys such as vasculitis and high blood pressure related to pregnancy.

Beyond direct patient care, Dr Anwar leads research in clinical decision-support tools and artificial intelligence to improve kidney care, particularly in developing countries. He holds academic posts at Khalifa University, UAE University, and Gulf Medical University, and is a visiting research fellow at ADIA Lab. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the International Society of Nephrology, and the American Society of Nephrology, and serves as associate editor of the Saudi Journal of Kidney Disease and Transplantation.
