Dr. Monojit Choudhury

Dr. Monojit Choudhury is an Emergency Medicine Consultant at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. He trained extensively in the UK, where he completed advanced specialist qualifications in emergency medicine, pre-hospital emergency medicine, and general practice. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and the College of Immediate Medical Care (UK), and is also licensed by the Medical Council of Canada. Before moving to the UAE, he worked as a consultant in the UK and served with the UK Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), specializing in high-quality critical care in pre-hospital settings.

In Abu Dhabi, Dr. Choudhury brings 8 years of clinical experience to emergency care. He is skilled in managing acute medical emergencies, trauma, and critical situations both in hospital and in the field. His particular strengths include emergency ultrasound (point-of-care imaging to rapidly assess patients) and focused intensive care echocardiography, which he uses to guide urgent decisions. He is also trained in immediate care medicine—treating patients at roadside accidents and emergency scenes.

Beyond direct patient care, Dr. Choudhury plays a leading role in teaching. He serves as core faculty in the emergency medicine residency program and leads the emergency ultrasound training courses at SSMC, helping to develop the next generation of emergency physicians. His background spans clinical practice, education, and institutional leadership, all focused on raising the standard of emergency medical care.
