About Dr. Issam Khoury
Dr. Issam Khoury is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Head of the Department at Reem Hospital in Abu Dhabi. He trained at the University of Damascus and holds German board certification in neurosurgery, with over 30 years of clinical experience. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the German Society for Neuroscience, the European Association of Neurosurgeons, and the Pan Arab Neurological Society.
Dr. Khoury treats a wide range of neurosurgical conditions, with particular expertise in spine surgery, spinal tumors, brain tumors, and head injuries. He manages spinal deformities, spinal trauma, traumatic brain injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, and peripheral nerve disorders, as well as intracranial bleeding. Before his current role leading neurosurgery at Reem Hospital, he served as head of department and chief of neurosurgery sections at other leading UAE healthcare facilities.
He has contributed to approximately 25 publications and 50 presentations in his field, bringing both clinical depth and research engagement to patient care.
