Dr. Tabassum Perveen

Dr. Tabassum is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with more than 25 years of experience. She trained at Aga Khan Medical University Hospital in Karachi and Tallaght University Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. Before joining Mediclinic Abu Dhabi, she spent 18 years at Corniche Hospital, where she was Lead Colposcopist for the cervical screening programme, Site Director for the internship programme, and part of the core teaching faculty. She was involved in formulating hospital guidelines for antibiotic use and colposcopy procedures.

Dr. Tabassum has extensive experience managing high-risk pregnancies, medical problems during pregnancy, growth-restricted babies, multiple pregnancies, early pregnancy complications, miscarriages, infertility investigation and treatment, adolescent gynaecological issues, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and menopausal problems. She is particularly skilled in colposcopy—a procedure to examine and treat the cervix—and uses it for cervical cancer screening and prevention. She holds UK accreditation as a colposcopy trainer.

Dr. Tabassum has a strong interest in teaching and research. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and published papers in medical journals. Her approach combines clinical expertise with a commitment to training the next generation of doctors and advancing the field through evidence-based practice.
