Dr. Sreekumar Athiyarath

Dr. Sreekumar Athiyarath is a consultant gastroenterologist at NMC Medical Centre in Sharjah, bringing over two decades of clinical experience from leading multispecialty hospitals in India, including AIMS in Cochin. He completed his medical training at Kerala University, where he ranked third nationally in his MBBS and first in his MD (Internal Medicine), before pursuing specialized training in gastroenterology at Trivandrum Medical College.

He specializes in managing upper gastrointestinal bleeding, liver disease, and complex endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies and endoscopic variceal ligation (a technique to stop bleeding from enlarged esophageal veins).
