Dr. Aagje Bais

Dr Aagje Bais is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with extensive training and expertise in women's health across the lifespan. She completed her medical degree and PhD at Erasmus University of Medicine in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where she specialised in premalignant (precancerous) diseases, gynaecological cancer and vulval conditions. She has built a strong track record in surgical procedures and is particularly skilled in managing both straightforward and high-risk pregnancies from conception through delivery.

Dr Bais treats a wide range of conditions including cervical disease, gynaecological cancers, vulval disorders, menopausal symptoms, fertility problems and early pregnancy complications. She performs surgical procedures for these conditions and provides comprehensive pregnancy care tailored to individual risk factors. Her clinical work is underpinned by significant research contributions—she has authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and given numerous international presentations, recognition of her expertise in women's health.

Dr Bais holds influential advisory positions in both the Netherlands and Europe, serving as Vice-President of the Dutch National Cervix Committee and a board member of the European Federation of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, as well as the highest medical advisory committee in the Netherlands reporting to the Ministry of Health.
