Dr. Muhammad Arif

Dr. Muhammad Arif is a British-trained tier-one consultant in respiratory medicine and general internal medicine. He holds the FRCPE (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh) and completed his specialist training in the UK. He is currently based at Mediclinic Al Ain, and previously worked as a lead consultant physician at Chesterfield Royal Hospital in the UK from 2012 to 2015. Beyond clinical practice, he is an adjunct assistant professor at UAE University's Department of Medicine, a core faculty member and chair of the competency committee for internal medicine residents at Al Ain Hospital, and an examiner for the MRCP(PACES) UK examination.

Dr. Arif's main clinical interests are thoracic (lung) cancers, bronchiectasis (damaged airways), pulmonary infections including tuberculosis and atypical mycobacterial infections, and pleural diseases (conditions affecting the membrane around the lungs). He performs diagnostic bronchoscopies (camera examination of airways), pleural ultrasounds, medical thoracoscopies (minimally invasive lung inspection), and non-invasive ventilation support. He manages a broad range of respiratory conditions including asthma, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), cough, sleep apnea, respiratory failure, and pulmonary fibrosis.

Dr. Arif is actively involved in teaching medical students, interns, residents, and general practitioners. He is committed to delivering high-quality, well-organized care in both respiratory and general internal medicine.
