Dr. Shabir Mohammed Kannammury Rashid

Dr. Shabir Mohammed is a Consultant Gastroenterologist based in Abu Dhabi with over 12 years of experience in gastroenterology and digestive health. He trained at leading institutions in India, including Government Medical College Kannur (medical degree), Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi (internal medicine specialist qualification), and Government Medical College Calicut (gastroenterology specialty). He also holds UK qualifications: MRCP (UK) and MRCP SCE in Gastroenterology, awarded by the Royal Colleges of Physicians. Before joining NMC Healthcare, Dr. Shabir was a Senior Specialist in Gastroenterology at Aster Medcity in Cochin and served as Teaching Faculty at Government Medical College Calicut, where he mentored gastroenterology fellows.

His clinical practice focuses on advanced therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy procedures. Dr. Shabir has independently performed over 700 endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedures and more than 250 endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) procedures. He provides a broad spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic treatments, including biliary interventions, luminal stenting, and guided tissue sampling (FNA/FNB).
