Dr. Bassem Badr

Dr. Bassem Badr is a board-certified Consultant Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor with over 25 years of clinical experience. He graduated from Alexandria University in 1993 with a medical degree, then completed specialist training in psychiatry and addiction through the World Health Organization, followed by postgraduate qualifications including a Master of Science in Neuropsychiatry and a PhD in Psychiatry from Suez Canal University in 2008. He holds membership and international fellowship with the American Psychiatric Association and is licensed as an Aviation Consultant Psychiatrist.

Dr. Badr specialises in adult and adolescent psychiatry, with particular expertise in mood disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, sleep and eating problems, and early psychosis diagnosis. He also has extensive experience managing various forms of addiction. His approach integrates psychological, physical and spiritual perspectives, combining scientific evidence with philosophical insight to understand and treat mental health challenges.

He has held senior roles in hospitals across Dubai, Kuwait and Egypt, and has contributed to medical research published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Badr is also an educator and lecturer at several institutes, coordinates addiction treatment programmes, and writes on social and psychological topics for newspapers and magazines.
