Dr. Naveed Syed

Dr. Naveed is an Associate Staff Physician in the Hematology and Medical Oncology Departments at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Cancer Institute. He completed his medical degree at Deccan College of Medical Sciences in India, followed by postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and a Diplomate of the Royal College of Pathologists certification in Clinical Hematology from the UK. With 17 years of experience, he has worked across the Gulf region, including previous roles as a Hematology & Oncology Specialist Physician at Sheikh Shakbout Medical City and as a specialist physician at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Naveed is a physician-scientist focused on advancing blood cancer and oncology care through artificial intelligence and machine learning. His clinical interests center on blood cancers, solid tumors, and stem cell transplantation. He has developed several AI platforms for real-world clinical use, including Leuko-AI for leukemia classification, GVHD-Intel for predicting graft-versus-host disease risk after transplantation, and ALEM-AI for mortality prediction in acute leukemia. He has undertaken advanced training in data science and machine learning through programs affiliated with Stanford University, Vanderbilt University, Imperial College London, and DeepLearning.AI.

Dr. Naveed regularly presents his research at major international hematology and oncology conferences and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications.
