Dr. Wael Nasser

Dr. Wael Nasser is a Consultant in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at American Hospital Dubai. He holds four American board certifications—Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Critical Care Echocardiography—and is pursuing additional certification in neurocritical care. He completed his internal medicine residency and pulmonary/critical care fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he served as chief fellow. His academic career includes teaching positions at the University of Florida and University of Central Florida, where he trained medical students, residents, and fellows for over 10 years. He also served as medical director of the respiratory care program at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida.

Dr. Nasser treats a comprehensive range of lung conditions including asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung diseases, sarcoidosis, cystic lung diseases, and pulmonary hypertension. He has particular expertise in lung cancer, pleural effusions, COVID-19 pneumonia, and rare lung diseases. He performs the majority of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in his field, including bronchoscopy with endobronchial ultrasound-guided biopsies, chest tube placement, pleural procedures, percutaneous tracheostomy, and critical care line placement. His technical skills extend to airway stent placement, airway dilation, and advanced sedation management.

Dr. Nasser is known for combining clinical excellence with a strong educational commitment. He graduated from Damascus University Medical School with distinction, ranking 7th in his class of 361 students. His approach integrates advanced imaging and procedural skills with a focus on rare and complex lung diseases.
