About Dr. Jorgen Kristensen
Dr. Jorgen Kristensen is a haematologist with more than 30 years of clinical experience. He graduated from the University of Aarhus in Denmark in 1984 and practised in Sweden for 16 years, where he completed a PhD in Drug Sensitivity Testing at the University of Uppsala and was appointed Associate Professor. Since 2000, he has worked in the UAE as a consultant haematologist, serving as Department Head at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain and later at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Kristensen treats the full range of blood disorders, with particular expertise in malignant haematological diseases including myeloma, lymphoma, leukemias, and myeloproliferative disorders. He is highly skilled in specialized procedures such as apheresis (blood and plasma exchange), bone marrow procedures, and lumbar puncture. His work has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals.
Throughout his career, he has been extensively involved in teaching medical students and residents in both Sweden and the UAE. He prioritizes patient-centred care and problem-solving in his clinical practice.
