About Dr. Hareth Hamdan
Dr. Hareth Hamdan is a specialist neurologist with 35 years of clinical experience, currently practising at Medcare Hospitals in Sharjah. He trained in Iraq and the United Kingdom, obtaining his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Baghdad and a specialist diploma in clinical neurology from the Institute of Neurology at the University of London. He worked for over two decades as a senior registrar in the neurology department at Rashid Hospital in Dubai, where he developed deep expertise in diagnostic neurology.
Dr. Hamdan treats the full range of acute and chronic neurological conditions, with a particular focus on neurophysiological testing — nerve conduction studies, electromyography (EMG), evoked potentials, and EEG (brain electrical activity). He manages common conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, migraines and other headaches, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, depression and anxiety. He has also taught neurology as a lecturer at Dubai Medical School for Girls.
He is a member of the Emirates Medical Association and the Emirates Neurology Society. Dr. Hamdan has a strong interest in research and has published papers in national and international medical journals. He speaks Arabic and English fluently.
