Dr. Fatma Aljassim

Dr. Fatma Aljassim is a Swedish and European board-certified consultant pediatrician and pediatric pulmonologist with 20 years of experience in the UAE. She trained in pediatrics at Queen Silvia Children's Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden, and completed specialist training in pediatric pulmonology and interventional bronchoscopy at Astrid Lindgren Children's Hospital at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. She has established and led pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine departments at two major Dubai hospitals, including the interventional bronchoscopy service.

Dr. Aljassim treats the full range of childhood respiratory conditions, from common asthma and allergic rhinitis to complex disorders like cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, and congenital lung malformations. She performs bronchoscopy (airway viewing and intervention), manages children on long-term ventilation and tracheostomy support, diagnoses sleep apnea in children, and conducts lung function testing. She also manages recurrent chest infections and evaluates children who have inhaled foreign objects.
