Dr. Karim Antoine Attara

Dr. Karim Antoine Attara is a senior consultant orthopaedic surgeon with over 50 years of experience in bone and joint care. He trained extensively across Europe, the UK, Kuwait, and the UAE, holding positions at leading hospitals including West Middlesex Hospital, Yeovil District Hospital, and Bristol and Exeter Hospitals. He graduated from Cairo University in Egypt in 1970 and completed postgraduate training in the UK, where he obtained fellowships from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England (1974) and Edinburgh (1975).

Dr. Attara specializes in comprehensive musculoskeletal care, including hip and knee replacement, shoulder and elbow surgery, foot and ankle treatment, spine surgery, and trauma management. He has particular expertise in joint preservation and arthroscopic procedures. In Kuwait, he served as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Vice Chairman of the Orthopaedic Council from 1977, and was instrumental in establishing the Gulf's first Scoliosis Centre. Following his relocation to the UAE, he served as Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Ministry of Health before joining Al Zahra Hospital in 1993.
