Dr. Nayzak Tahir Raoof

Dr. Nayzak Tahir Raoof is an experienced anesthesiologist with over 40 years of clinical practice and healthcare administration. He earned his medical degree from Mosul University in Iraq (1978) and completed a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of London (1988). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anesthetists and has held senior leadership positions across major hospitals in the UK and UAE.

Dr. Raoof began his career as a consultant anesthesiologist at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey before relocating to Dubai in 1999. At American Hospital Dubai, he spent 17 years in progressive leadership roles including Chief of Anesthesia, Head of Education, President of Medical Staff, and Chief Medical Officer. Since 2016, he has served as Chief Medical Officer and Chief of Anesthesia at Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery, where he continues to shape hospital quality and safety standards.

He specializes in clinical anesthesia, regional anesthesia techniques, and pain management. Dr. Raoof is recognized for his work in healthcare accreditation and quality improvement, having led 10 successful JCI (hospital safety) surveys. He serves on the Local Medical Advisory Committee at Dubai Healthcare City and the Dubai Patients Safety Index committee. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
