Dr. Alaa Shalla

Dr. Alaa is a German board-certified interventional cardiologist with 15 years of cardiovascular medicine experience. Over a decade of his career was spent at Rhön Klinikum Campus Bad Neustadt, one of Germany's leading heart centers, before moving to Dubai where he has practiced as a consultant for over 1.5 years. He specializes in complex heart conditions and their treatment using both traditional and minimally invasive techniques.

His clinical work spans coronary artery disease, heart failure, valve disease, and structural heart conditions. He performs coronary angiography (imaging of heart arteries), complex balloon and stent procedures including for difficult blockages, advanced imaging techniques to assess blockage severity, valve replacement via catheter (TAVI), heart ultrasound, and perioperative assessment for cardiac surgery patients. He also has particular expertise in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy—a genetic thickening of the heart muscle—where he performs specialized procedures to relieve obstruction.
