Dr. Yilkal Tassew is a Specialist in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. He graduated from Addis Ababa University's Faculty of Medicine in Ethiopia and holds an MD and MSc. With over 12 years of experience, he has built extensive surgical expertise across Africa and the UAE, treating a wide range of ear, nose, throat, and neck conditions.
Dr. Tassew specializes in acute and chronic ear infections, nasal cavity and sinus diseases, salivary gland tumours, and benign and malignant thyroid tumours. He is also experienced in managing neck masses. His clinical practice is supported by strong teaching credentials—he served as Vice-Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery and Postgraduate Coordinator at St. Paul's Hospital Millennium Medical College in Ethiopia, and held the rank of Assistant Professor there.
He is a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA) and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS). Dr. Tassew is an active educator who has taught medical students and residents throughout his career.
