Dr. Anu Jacob

Dr. Anu Jacob is a Staff Physician in the Neurology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Neurological Institute. He brings 31 years of clinical experience, including 13 years as a consultant neurologist at the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Liverpool, UK, one of Europe's leading neurology hospitals. He trained in internal medicine and neurology in India, then completed specialist training and fellowships in the United Kingdom and United States, including a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Jacob is a recognized expert in inflammatory diseases of the brain and spinal cord. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed research articles and several book chapters, and served as principal or co-investigator on multiple clinical trials for MS and NMO. He founded the UK's National Neuromyelitis Optica Service—the first comprehensive NMO service in the world—and directed multiple sclerosis services for North Wales, caring for over 1,000 patients. He was awarded the Royal College of Physicians Excellence in Patient Care Award for his work transforming care for NMO patients.

Dr. Jacob is passionate about medical education and research. He regularly teaches medical students and nurses, examines PhD candidates internationally, and has delivered over 100 lectures at major conferences including the American Academy of Neurology and the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS).
