Dr. Hasanain Al-Shakerchi

Dr. Hasanain Al-Shakerchi is a Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine with over 15 years of experience managing acute and chronic conditions in the UK and UAE. He trained in the United Kingdom after completing his medical degree at Al-Mustansiriyiah University in Baghdad, gaining his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Internal Medicine and Acute Medicine in 2012. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians in London and Edinburgh, and is widely recognised in emergency and hospital medicine.

He specialises in managing patients with blood clots (venous thromboembolism), acute infections including pneumonia and meningitis, breathing problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, anaemia, and chest conditions like asthma. Dr. Hasanain is experienced in coordinating complex hospital care for patients with multiple health problems, from admission through discharge and follow-up. At Hull and York Medical School in the UK, he led the Acute Medicine Department, established an ambulance care service, and set up a blood-clot clinic. Before joining Mediclinic, he was a Senior Consultant and trainer at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Hasanain is an educator and quality-improvement leader who has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. He has mentored junior doctors, examined medical students, and contributed to specialist exam development at the Royal College of Physicians. He received a Clinical Excellence Award at York Hospital for his contributions to patient care and departmental improvement.
