Dr. Madhavan Mukunda

Dr. Madhavan Mukunda is a specialist gastroenterologist with 11 years of experience in medical gastroenterology, therapeutic endoscopy and hepatology. After completing his training, he worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology at Medical College, Trivandrum (until 2012) and Medical College Kottayam (until December 2013) in India. He has been practising in the UAE since 2016, initially joining NMC Specialty Hospital Al Ain as a specialist gastroenterologist, where he established the ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) programme.

Dr. Mukunda treats a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions using both medical management and advanced endoscopic techniques. His core competencies include management of indigestion and reflux disease, peptic ulcers, liver and biliary diseases, inflammatory bowel conditions, and bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract. He performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including colonoscopy with polyp removal, ERCP for bile duct stones, variceal bleed management, oesophageal stent insertion, foreign body removal and stricture dilation.
