Dr. Meerna Elias Ghannoum

Dr. Meerna Elias Ghannoum is a radiologist with extensive training in diagnostic imaging and a particular focus on women's health. She completed her medical degree and master's degree in radiology from Aleppo University in Syria, where she subsequently worked as a specialist in the radiology department from 2001 to 2008. During this time, she became head of the radiology department for gynaecology and obstetrics, and also worked at Medico Surgical Arabic Hospital, a busy surgical private facility.

Since moving to Abu Dhabi in 2008, Dr. Meerna has worked with Almazroui Hospital and Cosmesurge, developing expertise in comprehensive breast imaging. She offers a full range of diagnostic breast services including ultrasound, mammography (x-ray screening), core needle biopsy, fine needle aspiration, stereotactic biopsy (needle biopsy guided by imaging), and MRI imaging. Her clinical practice is underpinned by her membership in the European Society of Breast Imaging and European Society of Radiology.

Dr. Meerna is committed to patient education, having been featured in television and radio programs and written patient-friendly educational articles. She is working towards developing a comprehensive women's health imaging centre that combines advanced diagnostic imaging with specialized procedures.
