Dr. Aydamir Alrakawi

Dr. Aydamir Alrakawi is a Staff Physician in the Gastroenterology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Digestive Disease Institute. He trained at Damascus University in Syria, completed his internal medicine residency at Fairview Hospital (a Cleveland Clinic affiliate) in Ohio, and then pursued specialized training in gastroenterology at Washington University in St. Louis, followed by advanced fellowship training in biliary endoscopy (ERCP) at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he spent over a decade as a gastroenterologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic in New Hampshire.

Dr. Alrakawi specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the digestive system, liver, and biliary tract. His clinical expertise spans pancreatic and biliary disorders, gastrointestinal cancers, liver disease, and reflux conditions. He is particularly skilled in interventional endoscopy techniques, including ERCP for treating bile-duct and pancreatic problems, as well as colorectal cancer screening. He also participates in the center's liver transplant and pancreatic disorders programs.

With over three decades of clinical experience across multiple continents, Dr. Alrakawi is well-suited for patients requiring specialist evaluation of complex liver and biliary conditions, as well as those undergoing screening or treatment for gastrointestinal cancers.
