Dr. Ayesha Farheen Shaikh

Dr. Ayesha Farheen Shaikh is a Specialist Ophthalmologist and Pediatric Ophthalmologist at Medeor Hospital in Dubai, with 10 years of experience in eye care. She trained in India, completing her MBBS and MS in Ophthalmology, followed by a fellowship in comprehensive ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, and strabismus (eye alignment). Before joining Medeor, she worked as a specialist ophthalmologist at Medcare Medical Center in Discovery Gardens, as an associate ophthalmologist at Kenia Eye Hospital in Mumbai, and as a consultant in general and pediatric ophthalmology at Sadguru Betta Chikitsalaya in Madhya Pradesh.

Dr. Shaikh treats a wide range of eye conditions across all ages. She performs phacoemulsification cataract surgery in both adults and children, manages squints (eye misalignment) in children and adults, and treats pterygium and ocular surface disorders. She also evaluates and manages glaucoma, ocular trauma, eye allergies and infections, refractive errors (such as short-sightedness), and amblyopia (lazy eye). She screens patients for retinal disorders and handles nasolacrimal duct obstructions (blocked tear ducts) and eye tumors.

Dr. Shaikh is a member of the All India Ophthalmic Society, the World Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and the state ophthalmic societies of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. She speaks English, Hindi, and Marathi, making her accessible to diverse patient populations in Dubai.
