Dr. Clara Lobo

Dr. Clara Lobo is a Staff Physician in the Anesthesiology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. With 27 years of clinical experience, she trained at Porto University and Hospital Senhora da Oliveira in Portugal, where she completed her anesthesiology residency. She brings extensive expertise in both general and regional anesthesia, with a particular focus on pain medicine.

Dr. Lobo has led significant professional roles in European anesthesiology, serving as past President of CAR/ESRA Portugal (a society with over 1,300 members) and from 2016 to 2019 as a board member of both the European Society of Regional Anesthesia (ESRA) and the European Diploma of Regional Anesthesia (EDRA). Since 2019, she has held the position of ESRA Secretary General, representing over 6,000 members internationally. She is an accomplished educator and researcher, having authored and co-authored numerous papers and book chapters on regional anesthesia and pain management.
