Dr. Ihab El Bably

Dr Ihab El Bably is a consultant ophthalmologist with three decades of experience across Europe and the UAE. He trained at the University of Alexandria in Egypt, then completed fellowships in Germany and the UK, working at leading hospitals including University Hospital Kiel and Bremen in Germany, and Moorfields Hospital in London, Manchester University Hospital, and Birmingham Children's Hospital in the UK. He held senior leadership roles including Director of the Department of Paediatric Ophthalmology and founder and Director of the Bonn Eye Center and Strabismus clinic. Since 2015, he has been practising in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.

Dr El Bably treats the full range of medical and surgical eye conditions, with particular expertise in strabismus (eye muscle disorders), paediatric eye problems, and neuro-ophthalmology in both adults and children. He performs cataract surgery, laser treatments for glaucoma and retinal conditions, oculoplastic procedures including eyelid surgery, and complex repair of failed previous eye muscle operations. He also manages diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, and retinopathy of prematurity screening in newborns.
