Dr. Samer El-Kaissi

Dr. Samer El-Kaissi is Division Chair of the Endocrinology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Medical Specialty Institute. He earned his medical degree from Flinders University of South Australia and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Flinders Medical Center, followed by an endocrinology fellowship at Barwon Health in Victoria. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he served as Consultant Endocrinologist and Chairman of the Endocrinology Department at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he spent eight years building the endocrinology program.

Dr. El-Kaissi specializes in thyroid disorders—including nodular thyroid disease, autoimmune thyroid disease, and thyroid-associated eye disease—as well as diabetes, pituitary disorders, adrenal conditions, and metabolic bone disease. He holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne (2008) focused on risk factors for thyroid-associated eye disease in patients with Graves' disease. Since 2003, he has performed in-office thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, reducing patient waiting times and the need for additional referrals.

Dr. El-Kaissi is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and brings three decades of clinical and research experience to patient care. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
