Dr. Javed Ismail

Dr. Javed Ismail is a Specialist in Paediatric Intensive Care at NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City, with more than 25 years of clinical experience managing critically ill children. He trained in general pediatrics at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, then completed advanced training in pediatric critical care at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India.

Dr. Ismail treats a broad range of critical conditions in children, including severe infections (sepsis and septic shock), brain and nerve problems (seizures, coma, raised intracranial pressure, neurocritical care), metabolic emergencies (diabetic ketoacidosis), severe lung disease (pneumonia and acute respiratory distress), organ failure (kidney and liver failure), and trauma. He is skilled in advanced airway techniques (breathing tube insertion, laryngeal mask airway), mechanical ventilation (including high-frequency ventilation and non-invasive support like CPAP and BiPAP), central line placement guided by ultrasound, blood pressure optimization with medications, kidney support therapies (dialysis), and neurological monitoring including brain pressure monitoring.

Dr. Ismail is an educator and researcher, having authored over 25 publications and book chapters in pediatric emergency and intensive care. He serves as faculty for Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Pediatric Intensive Care training courses. He is a life member of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, the IAP Intensive Care Chapter, and the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine.
