Dr. Adnan Agha

Dr. Adnan Agha is a UK-certified Consultant Endocrinologist with over 20 years of international clinical experience across four major healthcare systems. He has been an Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine and Consultant Endocrinologist at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University, since January 2022. Before joining the UAE, he served as Associate Clinical Director at University Hospitals of Derby & Burton in the UK, where he led specialist diabetes clinics including inpatient care and Type 1 diabetes technology services.

Dr. Agha specialises in comprehensive diabetes management for both Type 1 and Type 2 patients, with particular expertise in modern glucose monitoring technologies including insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors (CGM), and flash glucose systems. He is DAFNE-UK trained, meaning he brings structured diabetes education skills. His clinical scope also covers diabetes during pregnancy, weight management, thyroid disorders, pituitary and adrenal conditions, and metabolic complications such as fatty liver disease and cardiovascular risk reduction.

His approach emphasises combining medical expertise with psychological support and motivational interviewing to tailor care to each patient's individual needs and circumstances. Dr. Agha's academic interests focus on innovation in diabetes technology and thyroid disease research.
