Dr. Amjed Alhilo

Dr. Amjed Alhilo is a cardiac surgeon with extensive experience across governmental and private healthcare settings. He trained in several European centres including Leipzig (Germany), Ancona (Italy), and Madrid, and is a member of European cardiac associations. He currently serves as head of the cardiac surgery department at Al-Araby Hospital.

Dr. Alhilo specializes in beating-heart surgery (surgery performed on a heart that continues to beat, avoiding the need for a heart-lung machine), minimally invasive cardiac procedures, and congenital heart disease—conditions present from birth affecting heart structure or function. He has managed thousands of cardiac cases including complex paediatric cases, preferring arterial grafts over venous grafts when possible.
