Dr. Amir Javaid

Dr. Amir Javaid is a Consultant Psychiatrist with 15 years of clinical experience. He trained as a senior consultant psychiatrist in the UK, where he was registered with the General Medical Council and completed his Certificate of Completion of Training in Psychiatry in 2022, accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He holds membership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and is also registered with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. His background is distinctive: beyond psychiatry, he holds a Master's degree in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine from Queen Mary University of London (2009) and his medical degree from Lahore Medical & Dental College, Pakistan (2004).

Dr. Javaid specializes in diagnosing and treating the full range of mental health disorders, with particular expertise in autism, intellectual disability, and learning-related neurodevelopmental conditions. He has a strong track record in mood disorders (including bipolar disorder and depression), psychosis, schizophrenia, anxiety, OCD, and functional gastrointestinal disorders linked to psychological health. His dual training in psychiatry and gastroenterology enables him to take a holistic view of complex cases where medical and psychological factors overlap.

He is recognized as an educator and clinical supervisor, having trained numerous doctors during his UK career. His research focuses on autism and intellectual disability management, challenging behaviour in learning disabilities, and the intersection of physical and mental health.
