Dr. Areej Abdalla Hasan

Dr. Areej Abdalla Hasan is a Specialist Physician in Ophthalmology at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, with four years of clinical experience. She holds a medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Royal Medical Services in Jordan, where she developed skills across a broad range of eye conditions and surgical techniques. She is a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology and has completed an observership in neuro-ophthalmology at Methodist Hospital in the United States.

Dr. Hasan specializes in cataract surgery using both manual and phacoemulsification techniques, ruptured globe repair, intravitreal injections, and laser treatments including YAG and panretinal photocoagulation. She also manages squint (eye misalignment), eyelid procedures, and complex neuro-ophthalmology cases. She brings expertise in both surgical and clinical care, supported by telemedicine capabilities to reach patients across the region.

As Chair of the Abstract Committee for the Emirates Society of Ophthalmology, Dr. Hasan is actively involved in advancing eye care practice in the UAE.
