Dr. Brian MacCormack

Dr Brian MacCormack is a UK-trained consultant paediatric and neonatal surgeon at Danat Al Emarat Hospital who manages surgical conditions affecting children from infancy through adolescence. He studied medicine at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 2008, and obtained a Master of Science in applied surgical sciences from the University of Edinburgh in 2011. His training spans four leading paediatric surgical centres across the UK, Northern Ireland and New Zealand, with a specialist fellowship at Starship Hospital in Auckland focused on neonatal surgery and minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques.

Dr MacCormack has particular expertise in 'scarless' keyhole surgery for conditions like hernias, gallbladder removal, appendicitis and feeding-tube placement. He also manages complex birth defects including oesophageal atresia, gastroschisis, omphalocele and congenital diaphragmatic hernia. His routine practice includes treatment of undescended testes, endoscopy, removal of lumps, circumcision and ingrown toenails in children. He brings advanced technical skills developed through rigorous specialist training to deliver precise and effective care for infants, children and young people.
