Dr. Amit Kumar

Dr. Amit Kumar is a vascular surgeon with 25 years of experience, trained at leading U.S. institutions. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Rochester in New York and advanced his training with a vascular surgery fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and an active member of the Society for Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Kumar specializes in both minimally invasive endovascular procedures and open surgery for conditions affecting blood vessels. His main focus areas include carotid artery disease and stroke prevention, aortic aneurysms and dissections, diabetic foot disease and gangrene, varicose veins treated with endovenous techniques, dialysis access (catheters and fistulas), blood clots (DVT), and wound care. He has particular expertise in below-knee artery disease in diabetic patients and has pioneered regional firsts including the first successful atherectomy (plaque removal) in the Middle East and early adoption of drug-eluting stents for peripheral arteries in the region.

Over the past four years, Dr. Kumar has performed more than 1,000 vascular procedures and leads one of the largest vascular surgery practices across the Middle East, North Africa, and Africa. He is also an educator and researcher, having led the first multicenter vascular study in the Middle East (The ABC in PVD Study) and received a Resident's Teaching Award at the University of Rochester for his mentorship of trainees.
